Unlike brokerage firms’ whose fees may increase even if the customers’ assets shrink, the fees of Howell & Associates are always negotiated in advance. HAAP is paid an asset-based fee, so its interests are aligned with its clients. Investment advisors such as HAAP do not engage in business activities like investment banking or underwriting which take time away from its fiduciary responsibilities.
